Aksel Kankaanranta is known as a talented singer and songwriter whose captivating and enchanting voice has deeply touched the hearts of Finns. He rose to public prominence in 2018 after featuring on Pyhimys' single "Jättiläinen", which was awarded Song of the Year and Most Streamed Song at the 2019 Emma Gala.

In 2020, Aksel Kankaanranta won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu with his song Looking Back and was set to represent Finland at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. However, the contest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aksel Kankaanranta’s new work exudes fresh indie energy, with his songs exploring the full spectrum of emotions, from joy to sorrow. His music is influenced by folk, indie, and early 2000s Britpop. The new material also highlights pop-indie sounds, driven by a strong instrumental jazz vibe, especially accentuated by guitar and piano tones.
