The festival takes a head-start at the Kick-Off Club on Wednesday 5 October. The stage at Klubi will witness performances from The Kendolls (SWE), Wooly Mammoths (BEL) and KELVIN (NOR). Get to know the acts below:
The Kendolls celebrates what they know - the boredom of life in the suburbs, the meaningless war on drugs and mental illness. They are now touring with their third album "Autonomania".
Wooly Mammoths are a five-piece that creates sunbathed pop & rock songs, drenched in reverb and sprinkled with psychedelia. Wooly Mammoths have already had an article in NME Magazine and played at venues like Ancienne Belgique Kunstencentrum Vooruit. Soon, the band will release its debut EP.
Somewhere between cool electronics and a warm organic sound, you’ll find Kelvin's music. Kelvin released their second single, “Lights are low,” during the fall of 2015. It was played on one of Norway´s biggest radio channels, NRK p3, for over 9 weeks.
Schedule WED 5.10. @ Klubi:
The evening is produced by Music Active cooperative, Tamk and Excite Finland.
Lost In Music 2016 program is ready and released! The final line-up consists of more than 80 artists and a sweet set of additional attractions.
The main venue Tullikamari will witness performances from acts with international star potential, such as Alma (pictured), VENIOR, The Blanko and Temple Balls. But you do not have to go big to find interesting artists; The festival's newest stage Paja Bar at Solo Sokos Hotel Torni will host two shows each day from Thursday to Sunday, including e.g. electronically infused White Balance and singer-songwriter Jonathan Rundman, who is arriving in Tampere all the way from the United States!
Evenings with different themes add more variety to Lost In Music's program. Kaustinen Folk Music Festival and Tampere Jazz Happening will both host their own nights at Telakka on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Also make sure to attend Metal Export Finland, a new miniature festival with eight topical metal bands. For example Ranger, Whispered, and Arion will perform at Metal Export Finland on Thursday.
New Finnish pop sensations, rap, punk and explorers of the world. This and so much more can be discovered at Lost In Music in October. The Tampere-based festival celebrates its 10-Year Anniversary by bringing over 80 live acts in the city's central venues.
The freshly announced program features groups that have been noted more widely abroad than in Finland. Sans Parade brings to mind the classic sci-fi films of the 80's with their ethereal electronic indie. This group, founded in Turku, Finland, has been busy creating a fanbase particularly in German-speaking parts of Europe.
Jawohl, bitte! After touring extensively in German-speaking Europe, Sans Parade will impress the Finnish audience.
Nightbird is a solo project by Fenno-Swedish singer Anna-Stina Jungerstam. Her America-influenced folk borrows elements from such artists as Kurt Vile and Wilco, only translated to suit the Nordic state-of-mind. Swedish media in particular has praised Nightbird for her strong and stylish vision.
For lovers of more extreme genres, One Morning Left will serve a full dose of their hyper-energetic metalcore. One could say the band knows how to play the social media game, for they have gained over 32,000 followers on Facebook. The rockers of Rust N' Rage rely on the 80's aesthetics by updating the antics of Judas Priest and Guns N' Roses to the 21st century.

Lost In Music elsewhere:
Lost In Music, a festival dedicated to showcasing new Finnish music, expands into the metal territory in October. Metal Export Finland, a mini-festival organized as a part of Lost In Music, consists of eight topical heavy metal acts, seven of which are from Finland and one all the way from Canada.
Promoter Rowan Rafferty of Nem Agency sums up the new event:
– Finland is the promised land of metal music, and for the longest the genre has time been one of our best-known exports abroad. In Metal Export Finland, we are showcasing what we think are the best and most promising current bands while waving the local Tampere flag. I personally believe the program will stir interest for Music & Media Finland and Lost In Music Festival have always been important attractions for foreign metal music experts.
Bands selected for Metal Export Finland are, among others, Tampere-based Ember Falls and Whispered (pictured below). Both have shown great promise and created waved both in Finland and abroad. Ember Falls has made a global recording contract with Universal Music and Spinefarm earlier this year, and Whispered will make an UK tour before their Lost In Music performance.
