How would Ultra Bra, Kauko Röyhkä or Rosita Luu sound in Swedish? Love Antell, Thella Johnson and Mattias Björkas set out to find out. The group, made up of musicians who are influential in Sweden, says that promoting Finnish culture is a major theme for them, and that’s why Bottenviken was founded.
Founded in 2020, Bottenviken was born out of a need to explore the space between Finnish and Swedish culture and language. The result of this collaborative project, described by Johnson as scientific-artistic, was the album Du och jag, ett rike, ett land, published in May 2023.
