The world’s one and only Lapland-Balkan orchestra, Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha, will treat us to some samples from their upcoming sixth studio album, set to be released next year. Known for their exuberant and lively performances, the orchestra’s musical ingredients primarily consist of old Finnish schlager and fiery Balkan rhythms. Over the years, they have also gathered influences from countries such as Turkey, Greece, and Georgia. Their lyrics combine romantic ballads in the spirit of traditional Finnish music with transcendent and psychedelic imagery. At times, they peek behind the veil of alternate realities, while at others, they sit in the back seat of a taxi in Rovaniemi in 1999, searching for a dark bottle.
Having released six albums the band is renowned for their ecstatic live performances. They have maintained their reputation through a busy touring schedule, enchanting audiences across our beautiful and rugged homeland since 2009. Moreover, music enthusiasts and life lovers around the world have been uplifted in over 20 different countries, from Kazakhstan to Great Britain. For the Lost In Music audience, the group has promised to give some tastes from the upcoming seventh album!
