NE LINTUIZET

Ne Lintuizet, a domestic folk supergroup founded in 2024, brings together seasoned songwriters Pekko Käppi, Laura Moisio, Kielo Kärkkäinen, and Lauri Myllymäki. The quartet’s stunning vocal harmonies and organically flowing musical dialogue already charmed audiences during their debut tour last autumn.

The band’s debut album Uusi huone The band’s debut album Uusi huone (New Room) was released on May 16, 2025. The album exudes an intimate and warm atmosphere, with the group’s nuanced vocal work at its heart. Drawing deeply from the well of folk music—from the golden eras of folk rock across the Atlantic to local folk traditions—Ne Lintuizet crafts songs that reflect on life under the shadow of an uncertain future and looming global threats. Echoes of upheaval in the music industry, the precarious livelihood of cultural workers, and the impoverishment of the artistic ecosystem are also present. Yet Ne Lintuizet does not succumb to despair. The group finds strength in human connection and friendship, in the psychedelia of dreams, in childlike imagination, and in humor.

Ne Lintuizet is a gathering that is both reverent and joyful—an attunement to a new shared frequency. These are songs about supernatural visitors, everyday connections between friends, and about dreams, money, and the final power of death - about the time of flowers.
