Safer space principles
Respect the personal space and autonomy defined by another. You can't know another person's boundaries without asking them. Don't touch others without asking permission and ask for space for yourself as well if necessary.
Speak to and about others appreciatively. You wouldn't want to be humiliated, embarrassed, gossiped about or criticized for your qualities either.
Stick to the assumptions based on appearance and actions. Such are the assumptions about sexuality, gender, ethnicity, values or health.
Give space. Take into account the opportunities of others to be part of the conversation with their own opinions. Also respect others' boundaries in terms of privacy and handle sensitive topics gently.
Listen and learn. All of us can find new interests and perspectives from other people. You are open to discovering new things.
Apologise, if you have intentionally or unintentionally offended others.
Missing. We don't expect heroic deeds or want anyone to put themselves in danger, but we hope that you contact the harassment contact person, law enforcement or other staff when you notice behavior that violates the principles.
