Recently awarded a Jazz Emma for the solo album Lehto / Korpi (We Jazz), saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen effortlessly blends saxophones, live electronics, field recordings, and extended instrumentation. Rooted in the Finnish natural landscape, Lyytinen’s compositions merge outdoor and indoor elements into a seamless whole. The result is arctic ambient music tinged with mysticism, flowing from organically minimal soundscapes to majestic sonic worlds.
